indie song about dancing gets a beat: the twelves put down the synth on that antipedantic black kids’ song.

Welcome to the police state - no, not that kind. We mean the kind where they play the same fucking Police album three times in a row. It’s enough to make you want to move to Canada if only Montreal weren’t so cold. As a welcome antidote, TMYLM is posting two delicious slow and sultry songs that will get your tingle in a wingle just as soon as you can say GOLD CASE. The first, an odd David-Lynch-fucks-the-Eighties soul number is more sad; the second, a gem off the Afro-Peruvian classics album, picks you back up. Innjoy!

Cecila Barraza - Canterurias

Not content with 400% markups on their milkshakes coffee, seems S’bucks managers were forcing their lowly (but insured!) baristas to share their tips. To the tune of $105 million. Now it’s payday, bitches.
In honor of all things scrooged in the world, we present for your listening pleasure:
Duck Tales (The Video Game) - The Amazon
Duck Tales (The TV Cartoon) - Theme (in Hindi!)

Spring beckons and TMYLM follows eagerly, abandoning multiday posting for whoa-whoa-whoa multistage-hidden identity assistant-magician tricks, school, family and friends experiences. Yes, the buds are out on the tree and you know what that calls for: some of the tweest shit you’ve heard in a while. So decalcify your espresso machine and listen to our songs (if you can avoid the various sex scandals)
Plants and Animals - Bye Bye Bye
White Rabbits - While We Go Dancing
Marianne Faithfull - Working Class Hero

We made another mix–for our girl’s most excellent pool party & schvitz spectacular. It’s 90 minutes. You’ll dance. And it starts with an exclusive Lil Wayne / FPU (Miami Vice) smash up. There are a few fades–we apologize, but we’re just getting the hang of the softwarez.

I was gonna say something like “these bands are like a musical tsunami” but then I remembered that’d be like wiping my ass with 9/11 toilet paper in front of a firefighter with no legs.
First up, Indonesian Love Boat pop, followed by the White Snake of Jakarta. Enjoyz.
White Shoes and the Couples Company - Aksi Kucing
The Super Insurgent Group of Intemperance Talent - The Party

For those who don’t mind bad singing or the fact that he’s from Africa, ‘ere go! I sure don’t. Plus it takes me back to the time I was caught shoplifting…in Des Moines….in a Walgreens.

Squibb Pharmaceuticals ain’t no L7–they’re hip to the new jive, you dig? This unbelievably lame-tastic 7″ was released by the company in conjunction with a “documentary” film about two prototypical members of “the new generation”–a simulacrum of the sixties youth movement as imagined by Boomer-parent drug executives. Laird and Madeline (!) are Connecticut WASP supermodels, spearheading the way towards a new dawn of tolerance and shopping.

Listen, we at TMYLM are quite lazy, but it doesn’t mean that we can’t appreciate when others are not lazy. So (So) it comes as no surprise that we had to link to a double-plus-ungood unlazy link. Its a page of covers of Leonard Cohen’s incredible Hallelujah.
