All older music of ‘pop-fuck-electro’ style:

and we dance

Friday, July 11th, 2008

As we’re just about primed for the big 90s hipsterevival, we think it’s high time to bring back some rave-core casio samples with our thump thump.

Can’t quite let go of that dirty synth though.

Todd Edwards - The Messenger / So Real

T Raumschmiere - E

Hail Social - No Paradise (Adeyhawke Mix)

it used to be so easy

remember the good old days? when you could sit by the gowanus canal and actually just sit by the gowanus canal? when you could actually find a chocolate chip newsstand when you were looking for one? before iceberg lettuce? well…we do. and if you do too, we have some tunes just for you!

The Tough Alliance - First Class Riot

Originoo Gunn Clappaz - No Fear

Design For Good

Monday, May 5th, 2008

Yo, so we apologize for the dearth of listings the last few weeks. But between the finals, papers, and tantric breathing exercises your intrepid hosts undertake, we just haven’t found much time for the music. What a blessing then, when the good folkers at BuffetLibre sent us the following mix.

Now, we get utter shit in the mail everyday from people asking us to post (hint: there’s still a guy that is enjoying MASHUPS with the Presidents of the United States… a shiny rupee to he who figures out what artist he would mashup their popular song with…). So it was delightful to get something actually interesting. Apparently there’s a backstory to this mix; there were “guest selectors” for certain songs. Whatever, just enjoy it and go ride your bike!

TRACKLIST:
1. Sidechains - Buffetlibre Theme
2. Adventure Kid - De Lorean Motor Company [Selected by I'm From Barcelona]
3. Muscles - Sweaty (Shazam remix) [Selected by Softlightes]
4. T2 - Heartbroken [Selected by The Pipettes]
5. Golden Boy - Rippin Kittin [Selected by The Raveonettes]
6. Uffie - Ready To Uff [Selected by Sohodolls]
7. Does It Offend You, Yeah? - We Are Rockstars [Selected by Zookeeper]

9. Familjen - Det Snurrar I Min Skalle [Selected by Seabear]
10. Lykke Li - Little Bit [Selected by Of Montreal]
11. Autokratz - Pardon Garçon [Selected by Kaiser Chiefs]

From whence doth virtue arise?

It’s probably better to pay no nevermind.

In Sunset Park, last week, these two kids walk by, sharing headphones, singing all the words to I’m so Hood. 10 year old’s got taste.

More T-Pain

T-Pain - Shawty

Two electro-dance-techno-blog-house bangerz as you rickroll your way through another week. No cause for alarm–neither of these bands has yet to endorse beer that you drink anyway. But we’re sure that if they ever do, we’ll receive a very insightful email about it.

Oh, and have you seen this video from the Mets game the other day?

Mochipet - Get Your Whistle Wet

Titán - Pasion y Amor

indie song about dancing gets a beat: the twelves put down the synth on that antipedantic black kids’ song.

We made another mix–for our girl’s most excellent pool party & schvitz spectacular. It’s 90 minutes. You’ll dance. And it starts with an exclusive Lil Wayne / FPU (Miami Vice) smash up. There are a few fades–we apologize, but we’re just getting the hang of the softwarez.

So Dubai arrests some guy for having weed stuck to the soles of his shoes. Brooklyn charm-poppers Vampire Weekends release a song that echoes Paul Simon’s Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes. Hilarious skinny-jean wearing Max Gogarty gets demolished for privileged, promiscous traveling through India and Thailand. Gender-neutral pronouns emerge in Baltimore. The TSA travelog goes unmentioned in a long presidential weekend of crazy weather. Soulful world - soulful world music. Sorry haters but its what I am.

Maria Daniela y su Sonido Lasser - Miedo
The Exciters - Yo Que Nada Tengo

Dubstep was Skream before it was Burial–but here’s some newsht from the former, a head-nodding thumper with rolling synthz. If that made no sense to you, just listen.
